The Chronicle of the Old Crone
The Story Behind the Studio
For a very long time, I tried to squeeze myself into boxes that were a million sizes too small. I lived according to rules I didn't write, trying to blend in and quiet the noise of a world that didn't understand the depth of my spirit. I have stood in the absolute deepest shadows, walked through the brightest of lights, and weathered intense life storms that threatened to wash away everything I was.
But storms have a funny way of stripping away the fluff and leaving you with what is real.
I stopped hiding. I claimed my true voice, embraced my untamed spirit, and built a sanctuary. I chose the name Old Crone Studio because, to me, the Crone is the ultimate symbol of ancient wisdom, survival, and fierce, unapologetic freedom. She is the keeper of the hearth, the teller of stories, and the one who knows that the dark is nothing to fear—it is simply where the magic prepares itself.
Where High Fantasy Meets the Salt Air
Living and painting near the rugged coast of Massachusetts, the ocean is a living, breathing character in my life. The relentless waves, the shifting tides, and the salt air get deep into your bones. But my mind has always been anchored in the sprawling, untamed worlds of high fantasy—places of ancient dragons, hidden seaside taverns, cosmic auroras, and weary travelers finding their way home.
My artwork lives right at the intersection of these two worlds.
I don't paint smooth, delicate, flat pictures. I work with heavy acrylics and palette knives, literally sculpting the paint onto the canvas to create rich, heavily textured, abstract backgrounds. When you touch one of my paintings, you can feel the ridges of the rocky coastlines, the weight of a stone tower, and the energy of a swirling sky. My process is physical, passionate, and deeply intentional. I build visual lighthouses for free spirits.
A Sanctuary for the Weary Traveler
If you have stumbled into my digital tavern while quietly fighting your own silent battles, I want you to take a deep breath and pull up a chair by the hearth.
My art is born from survival, but it is fueled by hope. Every brushstroke is an invitation to embrace your own untamed path and a reminder that beauty can be claimed from any storm. Whether you are captivated by a massive, storm-battered lighthouse or a quiet piece of high-fantasy magic, know this: you are not alone, and you are entirely welcome here.
Originals & Fine Art Prints
To honor the integrity of the craft, this space is kept strictly focused on two things: One-of-a-Kind Original Canvases and Archival-Quality Fine Art Prints.
The Originals: These are raw, textured pieces of my soul, sculpted with palette knives and painted with obsessive care. They are heavy, tactile, and completely unique pieces of fine art meant to anchor a room.
The Prints: For those building their own sanctuaries on a different scale, my fine art prints are reproduced with highest-quality archival inks on premium paper, ensuring every rich indigo, alchemist gold, and textured line looks exactly as it did on my studio easel.
Thank you for stepping inside the realm of Old Crone Studio. May you find the exact piece of magic your sanctuary needs.
